How to Cancel Your Health Card

So I was finally able to terminate my Caritas Health Card. It took me about 4 months of contacting and going to their head office which is located in Quezon City. It's about 2 hours away from my residence.
Here is the process in getting back your hard-earned money:


The Background


A gay insurance agent in SM Sta. Rosa Laguna approached me as i entered the mall's premises. While I was looking to renew my health insurance with my previous health provider, I was not thinking of buying Caritas Health Shield because of their online reputation.
That person met me and told me that it's Caritas Health Shield's anniversary and as a promo, they are giving me a freebie - a free life insurance and discounts from clinics. They would also include travel incentives. I must admit that I did not think at that time. I was mesmerized by the offer. So I went with them to their office, sat through their presentation.

A lady came over, a clearbook in hand. She explained to me about Caritas Health Shield Max. She asked me if I have a credit card with me to confirm my identity. She then swiped it. I did not know that they charged my credit card! Long story short, I became a captive Caritas planholder.

I could have left it at that but they maxed out my card! I specifically told them that I would like to be charged monthly but they instead charged me for the whole year.

I was enraged at the misrepresentation by these agents.

Thus began my quest to terminate my Caritas Health Shield membership.


The Process to Terminate Your Health Card


This is the process to cancel your health card if there is a clear case of misrepresentation. For members who want to cancel your health card, you can call their hotline.

  1. Write a letter to the company - specifically addressed to the Alternative Marketing department. I found out that they have a dedicated department that handles the chargeback (!). It seems that there are many of us. You can address it to Mr. Manolo (I don't know his last name). I don't know the last name but they referred to him as a Vice President of the company. I would advise that you should also fill up the contact form on their website. For me, I wrote several letters to a certain Mr. Alfredo Dela Cruz. I won't publish his email here for the sake of privacy. You can fill up the contact form here if you want to email him yourself.


  2. Call Your Credit Card Company - In the case of credit card payment, call your credit card company to cancel your plan. File a dispute for unauthorized transaction as soon as possible so you will not be charged with interest.

  3. Follow up with the Alternative Marketing Department - actually they will be the people you will get in contact with in the duration of your cancellation.

  4. Always Opt for Full Refund - tell them that they misrepresented the benefits of their products and never take no for an answer. As long as you haven't used your health card, you can always get a full refund.

  5. Call the Insurance Commission - ask for the help of the Insurance Commission if they can't give you a full refund within a week. Otherwise they will convince you to let the plan remain enforced. The Insurance Commission is very helpful and will be by your side during the negotiations.

Keep in mind that you can cancel and get a full refund of your payment within 15 days. But in the case of misrepresentation, you can get a full refund even after a few months. Just make sure that you haven't used your health card so you will get your refund in full. Otherwise, you can only get a partial repayment.


Letter of Cancellation Sample:


Dear Mr. Blank,

I am writing to inform you that I am cancelling my health card with your company. The woman who sold it to me told me that I can withdraw it at the full amount anytime which is a clear case of misrepresentation. I haven't used the health card so I would like to get  the full amount of my payment at the soonest possible time. Also, I haven't received my policy even if they told me that it will only take 3 days to process. It's been 2 months already.

I will thank you if you take fast action on this matter.

Conclusion


Agents like the ones I encountered do not really look for a long-term relationship with you. They lie and misrepresent because they only want the commission. They don't deserve their commission. Professional agents should look for your welfare and offer your customized products - health products that are "swak" to your needs.

While a health card is essential for us, it should be sold ethically and professionally. Please do not condone agents who not look after your welfare.

Ung insurance nya 108k less 10% discount so mga 97k ung nacharge sa credit card nya.. Gusto na ni kuya icancel kasi 6months na wala padin xang card wala din updates. Never po nagamit ung insurance.. Please po pa tulong naman pano gagawin namin.

      Oct 15 nagsend ako ng cancelation thru email.. Sa website ng caritas. October 16 tinawagan ako ng isang representative tapos every other day tinatawagan ko ung caritas para mag update. November 9 natapos ung clearance at napasa sa accounting department sabi 30 to 45 days ang process pag bank to bank so nag intay lang kami pero weekly ako tumatawag para sa update. Thanks God December 13 pumasok na sa account ung pera as in lahat ng binayad namin walang bawas tumubo pa kasi mataas ang peso ngayon vs canadian dollar.. Never po ako nagpunta sa main branch nila.. Wag na kayo magpasa sa mga branch kasi hindi nila inaasikaso.. Pde naman walk in sa main branch may representative naman dun sabi nung nakausap ko pero para iwas traffic ok naman thru email at calls. Hoping na maresolve din ang mga case nyo. Salamat. GodBless

    12. Isa din po ako sa mga nabiktima ng caritas, yesterday lang po sa SM Mabolo, Cebu. Sobrang shock ako sa perang nawala sakin, kasi nakalaan na yung perang yon pampagawa ng bahay namin.. Diko talaga lubos naisip, na sa isang swipe lang, nawala yung pera ko.. Sabi lang naman na e.check check yung atm ko.. Huhuhuhu Gusto ko po makuha yong pera ko..Maawa po kayu sakin, tulungan niyo po ako..Sana po may makapagreply kung paano...

    13. the sister of my friend also had this experience in SM Mabolo. ang ginawa nila inaway talaga yung manager and took picture of their office to rant on social media,but the manager asked them to delete the photos and they were given refund on that night. apparently their way of doing business is very unethical and the public should really be aware about this type of scheme, para wala nang mga biktima

  6. Hi im also a victim at sta. Rosa laguna sm branch.. I am planing to file a complaint.. They got my money upon swipping my debit card and by saying that they just want to know if iam approve/capable of their plans. And walaah!in just 1 swipe they congratulated me.. And i havent receive any OR and policy i just demand that i want to know what are my benifits so they send it thru mesenger upon reading it.. I doubt all they promised to to me that i can use the hmo card even though iam pregnant.. Which not covered at their plans even checkups.. This is a misrepresent. What is the number of their insurance commissioner?? Is it at their office? They said that they have a office at the balibago near the walter mart.. Please help me. and does any one hear also in my area one file a complaint?

Thanks God at na refund na ung amount na nakuha sa credit card ko, victim din ako dito sa SM Bacoor last april 28 at ni refund na nila May 31 pasok sa pinangako na 30-45 working days..Guys gawin nyo punta kayo ng office ng caritas na malapit sa inyo hingi kayo ng tolong sa concern nyo at ibibigay naman sa inyo ang mga dapat tawagan at kng sino ang dapat padalhan ng e-mail..SM sta Rosa SM Bacoor same manager lng yan at mabait naman din Si sir explane nyo lng maiigi at wag kayo pumayag sa nga suggestion nya sabihin nyo tlaga na kailangan nyo ng refund, sya mismo ang mag process ng cancellation at take note dapat lagi follow up..

  14. hi po, victim din po ako, in my case iba ang sinabi nilang benefits, nung agcheck ako hindi nman pala ganun tapos wala na lahat ng mga agents, team sila, nagpunta na rin ako ng head office at nagbigay ng letter, di sila pumayag downgrade ko na lang daw, ang laki ng charges ko monthly, nagemail na rin ako sa insurance commission last year, magmemeeting daw kami, hanggang ngayon wala pa rin, baka po may makatulong sa inyo sa akin, hirap na ako magbayad sa credit card

Follow up. I also seeks for assistance at insurance commission, i think nakatulong din sila sa processing.

I also a victim to last sept. 7.super bigat talaga ng feeling ko kaya nagdecide ako icancel na. I contacted ung agent na nakausap ko at issched nya ako ng meeting sa manager nya. Nagresponse naman sya agad saken then kakausapin pa raw ako sa sept. 15. For me matagal ung aantayin ko for sept 15 kaya i seek for another solution if possible mag email na ako ng concern sa mismong caritas. Thanks po

  21. OMG!, I read previous reviews 2 yrs ago. Thank you for this updated blog. I was also a victim and started to join last friday in Pangasinan. Magaling sila mag marketing strategy kaya nila ako nakuha. Nagulat ako dahil sabi nung agent wala sila kukunin sa akin at ako ang makakakuha ng free bag and free voucher which in return need to apply. No choice ako coz they I already gave my ATM card na may partial of 6,550 + 200 (Card fee). Hindi ko inaakala pero I feel n scam po ito so my concern is pano ko po I teterminate yung contract since fresh applicant po nila ako? Is there any chance to refund partial payment?. After reading those complaints, wala na akong dahilan pa para ipagpatuloy yung pagdeposit quarterly. please any help. Thank you.

    Submit po kayo sa branch na napuntahan nyo ng letter of cancellation indicating the reason therein. Then, kakausapin ka ng agent mo about sa reason mo for cancellation. Stand by your decision that you want it to be cancelled because they will still encourage you to still avail the product. Then you have to wait for 30-45 days for the process. I am also in the process.

  24. Hi this is CK. is it okay to pass the cancellation na sa main office nila sa quezon rather than sa agent na kinumbense ako sa pagsisinungaling nila through marketing strategy keme keme. Kaso I’m still finding any reasons para macancel yung contract which wala pa nmnag problema na nangyayri sa ATM ko. I feel unsatisfied kasi after reading reviews on caritas. Most of the reviews kasi is negeative. OFW po ako so I want to cancel it as soon as possible. Thank you for your immediate reply.

  25. I am a victim of fraudulent swiping of my debit card and misleading marketing. Ang kakapal ng muka! Sabi iccheck lang ang card ko kay bdo kung eligible ako for approval. Tapos naswipe na nya without my consent. At ang linaw ng usapan namen na wala akong babayaran. Kakapal talaga! On process na ung refund ko at buti na lang din hindi pa na eenroll ng branch. Sana makuha ko agad. Kung gusto nyo po marefund ang mga pera nyo punta po kayo sa main office nila and pass a cancellation letter. Call insurance Commission as well and send them a copy of your cancellation letter na may received sign ng caritas.

    4. Sir direct po kau magemail sa caritas. Cc nyo din po ung insurance commission. And kapag na cc nyo po ung insurance commision eh magsent po kau ng separate email sa kanila na nagpapa assist po kau sa concern nyo po. Ganyan po ginawa ko nung last thursday. Mag eemail din po ung caritas sa inyo na nareceive nila email nyo. Tpos follow up nyo nalang sila. After ilang days. Ako ang hirap makatawag sa kanila. Kaya thru email follow up ko po.

    1. Thank you. Pwd ko pa kaya marefund yung pera after 2 weeks ago. Meron naman silang temporary receipt tapos 6750 yung charge kasama yung 200 na process nung ID. Possible ku kaya makuha sa monday ung refund? Mag pa flight na ko sa Tuesday. tulong naman po kung anong gagawin ko. mg visit po ako nang office nila Robinsons Ortigas.

    1. Prepare a cancellation letter wheter you’ve been fraud or agent convince you due to their misleading strategy. Pass sa mismong pinag applyan mo then get acknowledgement for follow up then send that acknowledgement to caritas email cc IC and follow up follow up follow up. 30 to 45 days yung process.

  28. Hi there, submit cancellation letter dun sa branch and email mo yun sa head office nila kasama ng acknowledgement na ginawa dun sa branch. Need kasi yun ng head office. Tapos complete details yun nasa cancellation letter mo.
    Also make sure, i-cc mo sa email yun insurance Commission (publicassistance@insurance.gov.ph)
    Then once na maemail mo sila, tawagan mo. Ang hirap makontak ng caritas ngayon. Nasa 4th week na ako next week, ticket number palang meron ako.

Kelangan ko ho bang mgpunta nang bangko ko para i cancel anf any transaction from them? i believe na automatic clang mg charge for yearly contribution yun po kc ang nalagai nila sa akin , since wala po kc ako dto sa pinas gusto ko lng i make sure na hindi tatagal to’ since next year na naman ako mkakabalik to make everything clear. at this point gusto ko lang macancel na ung application ko i’m not even thingking of pera na. i cannot also disclose it in public like FB because my family esp my mom doesn’t know about it i don’t want to give her more stress dahil di ako ng iisip. i could only warn my OFw friends to be ware. if kylangan ipa tulfo or anything i could also make a testimony privately lang. I hope more people mka visit sa dito para di mangyari sa kanila.

      I sent a cancellation letter sa branch kung saan ako nabiktima and sabi nila nasend na nila sa head office yung letter ko and to wait 4-6 months for my full refund, straight to my ATM na. Pero wala akong tiwala sa kanila. Baka wala lang din mangyari after 6 months of waiting

  29. Good day po. Patulong naman. Last march 2018 nagbakasyon kuya ko dito sa pinas nakapag avail sya ng hi end insurance.. international Credit card gamit nya. 97k ung binayaran nya. After makabayad hindi masyadong naexplain nung agent na pde na magagamit ung free medical so march 15 nakaalis nadin xa pa canada.walang update tungkol sa insurance wala din ung card. July 21 pinapunta nya ako sa caritas sm Santa rosa.. Nakausap ko yung manager so nagka agreement na aasikasuhin nya personally ung concern ng kuya ko sabi nya mga 3days lang madedeliver na dito sa bulacan ung card ng kuya ko. Pero after a week pa xa nag reply sa email ko kung hindi ko pa xa tinawagan sa number nya. Nanghingi sila ng mga id nagpagawa ng letter kasi walang local id si kuya.. Tapos aug 21. Tumawag ako sa kanya sabi wala pa ung card kasi need ni kuya gumawa ng letter indicate ung local address nya. E sabi ni kuya nung nagfifill up palang xa sinabi na nya wala xang local address kasi sa canad sila na ka base.. Gusto na ni kuya icancel ung insurance nya.. Pahelp naman po.. Ok lang ba na ako ang mag aasikaso kasi nasa ibang bansa xa. Never pa nagamit ung insurance. Salamat po.

Kasi nag-email daw sa kanila ang Insurance Commission about dun sa case ko, since I seek help from IC. Wag na kayo umasa dyan sa mga branch manager ng caritas. Paghihintayin lang kayo nyan, pero sa huli wala rin. Sa main office na mismo dumerecho.

    7. Good Afternoon po. Update ko lang ung case ng sa kuya ko. Nagpasa ako ng letter of cancelation sa sm. Santa rosa nung oct 2 sabi nung manager irereceive nila tapos ifoforward nila sa main.(wag kayo maniniwala kasi ung samin hindi nila finorward.) oct 15 nag email ako sa caritas. customerrelations@caritashealthshield.com.ph dyan po. Tapos oct 16 tumawag sakin si sir jm (xa ung may hawak ng case ni kuya) ayun po xa daw nag cclearance. Oct 23 sabi nya nasa head na nya for clearance. Nov 5 tumawag at nag email ako sa caritas sabi ni sir jm kababalik lang daw sa kanya ng mga papers ni kuya. Nov 9 ayun on process na ung papers ni kuya mean naipasa na sa finance. Sabi pag ganun ok na un. Wait ng 30 to 45 days nag email sila sakin. Hoping na ok. Kasi bank to bank. Saka full payment sana.

      That is not true. Sinungaling yang mga yan. Merong rule ang Insurance Commission na pwedeng icancel ang plan within 10 days from the date of availment. Yan mismo ang sinabi sakin sa main office nila. I am just waiting for the chargeback na makukuha ko.

      Pwede po kayo tumawag sa number para may makausap kayo na taga-IC. Pero ang pinagawa po sa akin ng IC ay bumalik sa branch kung saan nabiktima, sumulat ng letter of cancellation and ipapirma sa branch manager. Ask them for a photocopy of the letter for your own keeping. Then for safe measure ask for a photocopy of the transaction slip as well. Then I emailed IC Cebu about my story and added the photocopied letter as attachment. After that, IC emailed Caritas (with me CCed) asking for them to give me my money back. An attorney is on my case and they later sent me an email showing the letter that the attorney wrote to Caritas. I haven't gotten my money back, but a lot of the other comments here say they got theirs back in 30-45 days so I'm hoping that will be the case for me too.

    5. sabi nila wla raw pong refund kasi nakasulat po raw sa contract na wlang termination value kapag nagpa terminate ng plan. tinatanong naman nmin anong gagawin pag gustong magpa cancel... sabi nla wla rin po akong dapat gawin... may 2 yrs daw na extension pag di magbayad... at kung aabot ng 3yrs dun na raw ma forfeit yung plan... mayron bang ganung na titigil ka lng sa pagbayad para lng ma cancel yung plan...

So last December 7 2018 nakaavail ako nito, same situations kagaya po ng sa inyo, sabi pa sa akin ay after 5 years pwede ko na makuha ang pera yun pala ang maturity yearng plan na ibinigay sa akin is sa ika 11th year pa,and yung Id 2 weeks lang raw ay makuha ko na at update raw ako ng agent kung mayroon na,and yung dependent ko raw ay makikinabang rin agad. Yun pala ay for consultation lamang, binigyan na ako ng policy, receipt and yung terms and conditions rin but di nila inexplain sa akin ng maayos . So pagdating ko sa bahay nagcheck ako agad sa net about caritas until I end up reading your situations here. On the same day. Nag email ako sa customer relations nila cc nyo yung publicassistance. I received an email after 3 days sa kanila. Telling me to send hand written letter, my receipt and Ids. Pero december 22 na ako nakapagsend back ng email. After nun wala ako nareceive email sa kanila so i called yung mga hotlines nila. Follow nyo lang sasabihin nila kung sino mga dapat icontact. Hanggang sa nacontact ko ang customer relations nila. Sabi nila magrereply naman daw at for approval pa ang case ko.


    Pero january 4 nagsend na sila email about my refund 30 to 45 banking days daw. But January 9 nareceive ko na rin refund ko not much amounting 8,030 but still hard earned money yun. Ithink tama na nakatulong yung pag cc sa publicassistance.gov


    Sana makuha nyo rin refunds nyo.

    Hi guys! I was also a victim of Caritas. I was able to cancel the plan. I got the refund. This is what I did to get my refund:

    1.Email your concern to Insurance Commission.
    2.Make a cancellation letter and go to the main office of Caritas and address your issue. You can cancel your plan within 10 days from the date of acquisition. (accdg. to insurance code)
    Dont believe those people from the branch telling you that you cant cancel your plan.
    3. Patiently wait for 30-45 days for the refund.
    4. FOLLOW-UP.

      Isa rin po ako na nabiktima nila. Mga sinungaling mga agents at managers diyan sa sm cebu branch. As per INSURANCE COMMISSION, you can cancel the policy you have 10 working days from the time you applied and get full refund.

      These are the things you need to do:

      1. Give them request letter to cancel the insurance and get the full refund that was charged to you (wag mo din kakalimutan yung P200 for ID daw). Make sure the manager recieves the letter and signs it to prove they have received the letter. Picturan mo din na may pirma para may proof ka kasi they will keep it.
      2. Wag ka na papadala sa mga flowery words nila. Say no and tell them na you will cancel.
      3. Tatakutin ka ng manager if you terminate...TAKE NOTE TERMINATE yung term nila hindi cancellation...kasi if you terminate you will not get the refund. Ang termination is different sa cancellation.
      Termination is when you have used the policy and more than 10 days na from the time ka kumuha ng policy.
      Cancellation is the term used for new applications na ipapa cancel but within the period of 10 working days from the time na nag apply ka. You get full refund.
      4. Manager will ask for the TPR or yung temporary receipt na naka carbon copy lang after she recieves the letter. WAG NA WAG MO IBIBIGAY kasi may original copy sila. If you did they have a process na puwede nila ideclare na nag terminate (take note di cancel yung term) ka and you will not get the refund and makukuha nila pera mo. Mga manloloko talaga sila. :(
      5. Tumawag ka din sa hotline ng caritas at mag reklamo. Make sure to tell the customer rep na irecord yung reklamo sa system nila. Mag email ka din sa customerrelations@caritashealthshield.com.ph asking to cancel and refund and iattach mo na rin yung scanned na signed request letter mo. Kasi minsan yung branch agents/managers nila hindi nila ifoforward yung request.
      Magrereply yung caritas email to provide your name and address kasi may tatawag.
      6. In any case walang reply pumunta sa branch...again pag inayawan ka, magreklamo ka na sa insurance commission. Bawal kasi sa isang HMO na ideny yung cancellation kasi nasa batas kasi natin na puwede mag cancel within 10 working days from the time you applied. You can call IC and send them an email detailing your ordeal. Nasa site nila yung contact # and email add.
      7. You have to be quick and makulit kasi andami delaying tactics ng caritas. Ang aim mo is for them to confirm your cancellation and refund you fully. Humingi ng official document for this.

  58. its scam!!! agent who just wanr commission and not thinking that money that they are getting from us is also hard earned money. I was told that my card wont be charge until I get my statement.Who would have in her right mind agreed to be charge large amount of money and paid interest.Also was told that I have to wait 30 days before I cancel my contract,now that Im calling them to cancel I was told cant be cancelled coz it was already beyond 30 days are they out of there mind?

    I wanted to cancel my insurance due to their scammy marketing and misrepesented their products. I got the insurance sa sm cebu 2 days ago. I sent a request letter to cancel and get full refund of the amount charged to my card. I had the manager recieve and signed it..but she said that if I terminate (take note she used terminate not cancel) I will not get any refund because I have not reached the termination value period. I said I wanted to CANCEL not terminate kasi kakakuha ko lang 2 days ago at di pa nagagamit. And hiningi niya yung TPR ko and when she said na need nila for the termination daw, TAKE NOTE GUYS: wag niyo ever ibibigay yung TPR kasi kopya niyo yan may copy sila. May mga para paraan sila para makuha yung pera niyo. But I insisted that I get my TPR, HB na si lola niyo so binigay niya sa akin. So the manager said na she will give me up to today to decide. So I left and called the IC and natawa sila kasi nung nalaman nila na caritas sabi ng taga IC."na naman". So marami na palang naloloko tong caritas na to. Sabi ng IC na sinungaling yung manager kasi I have the right to CANCEL the policy 10 working days from the time na nag apply ka ang get full refund of the money na na charge sa cards niyo. This is true for any insurance policy. So sabi ng taga IC na tumawag sa caritas hotline which I did. And sabi ng taga caritas na magsend ng request letter email (customerrelations@caritashealthshield.com.ph). I sent an email detailing yung ordeal ko sa kanila and demanding to cancel and get the full refund sa amt na na charge sa card ko Including yung P200 na para daw ID. And all I recieved is an automated email message na ibigay ko name and contact # ko may kokontak daw sa akin. Up to now wala pa rin. In any case if walang reply pupuntahan ko yung branch, and if ayaw nila, sabi ng taga IC na tumawag ako sa kanila para tulong na maipa cancel yung policy. Update lang ako guys kung ano mangyayari. Basta wag na kayo papaloko sa caritas.

    1. Feeling ko ganito din mangyayari sakin. Kahapon lang po ako, April 02, 2019, na victimized... TumawAg ako sa IC kung ano gagawin, sabi nila gawa daw ako ng Cancellation letter tapos send sa branch na kinuhaan ko tapos sa main office din daw po. Haay sana once na ma cancel nila yung plan, okay na sakin yun kahit di na mabalik yung pera fully, pero swerte pag buo talaga.. Basta ma stop lang ang plan, wala ka na problema sa next 4 years mo.

  61. Please help me... Isa rin po ako sa victim ng caritas na yan, last November 2018..na grant naman po ang request ko na mapa cancel and get refund or chargeback sa credit card ko.. Nag email po sila sakin ng january 10 na cancel na po yung plan and I will get my full refund within 30 to 45 banking days.. Pero until now po katapusan ng march wala pa din pong refund na nangyayari.. More than 45 banking days na sinasabi nila.. Nag fofollow up naman po ako sa kanila thru call ang sabi lang po nila is for clearance pa.. My gudness sobrang tagal na.. Any suggestion po kung ano po dapat kong gawin... Thanks po

  62. Mam and sir, kahapon lang po ako victim April 2, 2019 kaso ATM po ang ginamit ko. Napabili nila ako ng Health card worth 34000 sa initial payment... Ano po ba ang safe na way parq ma cancel yun? Pwede ba takasan yung payment? Wag na bayaran? Nakuha kasi nila details ng ATM number ko tapos kinuhaan ng ID pina xerox nila yung ATM saka yung ID. Sa sobrang lito ko po kahapon napabili talaga ako... :( help po Sa Ermita Manila naman po to nangyari sa Times Plaza building.

  66. derekta na lng po kau mag email sa costumer relation ng main office ng caritas,submit kau ng cancellatio letter po.isa din po ako sa na victim lastyear november 17 2018.at sa awa ni papa God na refund nman po buo ung nabawas sa debit card ko pero 4 months din ako nangungulit/follow up lage sa kanila sa tawag....God blessed po sa inyu at sana maibalik na rin sa inyu ung pera na pinaghirapan.

  68. I need help po! naging victim din girlfriend ko last june 12 2019 lng. She was forced to be a member. They told her that they will only check her credit card pero na swipe na pala nila and wihout telling mgmy girlfriend na may transaction na pala na nangyare. Nagulat na lng sya nung iabot na yung credit card na may kasama ng resibo. Ayaw pa nila ipakita yung resibo hanggat di daw pinipirmahan yung papel na di nman nila pinaliwanag sabi lng pirmahan mo yan para matapos na tayo.   69. Hi everyone. I got my refund after 1month and a week na pangungulit sa Head Office nila. So this is what happened, same case sa iba na naswipe ung card due to sabi lang is ichecheck if iaapprove ng bangko. Pagkaswipe ng card ko, sinabi ko sa Manager na hindi pa naman ako mag aapply and so on. Pinagpipilitan nya na hindi na daw mababalik ang pera ko, etc. etc. So umalis na ko sa branch nila and kinabukasan is gumawa na ako ng action, tumawag ako sa Head Office nila, nagpatulong ako and sabi is pwede naman ipa cancel within 10days, basta makapagpasa ng letter thru email asap. So agad agad gumawa ako ng letter, (btw, I can send the format of my letter kung may manghihingi) and as per advice nung kausap ko sa Head Office, yung case ko will be under evaluation and for approval pa, after a week, tumawag ako ulit to follow up, same pa rin ung sinabi then the other week na tumawag ako, sabi is na-approve na daw ung request ko for cancellation. Tawag nalang daw ulit since ang processing ng cancellation nila is 30-45 days. After a week tumawag din ako ulit. Sabi nila nasa FINANCE DEPT na daw ung papers ko, for processing na ng refund. June 19 naipasa sa Finance Dept, July 05, nabalik naman ung pera.

    Timeline ng case ko is
    May 28 – naswipe ung card
    May 29 – nagsend ako ng cancellation letter
    June 19 – Forwarded na sa Finance Dept ung letter
    July 05 – Nabalik na ung pera

    May 29, nakausap ko ung agent ng Caritas na nagpa apply sakin nung plan, pinagpipilitan din nyang hindi na mababalik ung pera. Nakakasama lang ng loob na kahit alam naman nyang may way para macancel ung plan, pinagtaasan pa nya ako ng boses para lang ithreaten na hindi na pwede magpacancel, para lang sa Commission nila, nagagawa nilang mangloko ng tao.

    1. Hi! same case po tayo lahat ng nasa branch nila sinsasabi na kahit piso wala na po akong marerefund. So nanlambot ako kc pinaghirapan ng asawa ko yung 25k na sinwipe nila sa credit card ko. Before pa sila nagswipe sa credit card ko tiinanong ko pa sya kung if ever ayoko ng maghulog makakapagrefund ako, sabi nya yes mam anytime naman po kc investment din daw po. Ngayon nagka-idea ako sa blog na toh nagkaroon pa ako g pagasa na makapag refund.

  70. may possibility po kaya na mabawi ko pa rin yung hinulog ko kahit 2yrs ko na sya hinuhulugan? yung pera na dapat na nagagamit ko para sa pambili ng gamot at pantulong sa pamilya, ihuhulog ko pa sa caritas. lalo na if gipit din sa budget ngayon at di regular ang woprk.. namomroblema na ako san kukuha ng pambabayad sa kanila. same din ang ginawa nila sakin tulad ng sinabi na icheck daw kung approve kyeme ng bank yung atm ko... thanks po.

    Na-scam din ako nito nung May 2019. Fortunately, naibalik sa akin today (August 4, 2019) ang binayad ko. Nagemail ako sa customercomplaints@caritashealthshield.com.ph at cc ko rin si publicassistance@insurance.gov.ph . Salamat sa mga blog na ito at sa mga comments na din. I emailed them once, may nagreply after a week siguro. They asked for my mobile number. And then after 3weeks, I emailed them again, kasi walang tumatawag. And then I received an email from public assistance, stating na pnoprocess na nila ang pagcancel sa plan ko. I replied and asked ano ang mext step. No reply. I was not able to call or update thru any hotline numbers dahil sira ang landline namin and I was very busy. I was even thinking na baka hindi na maibalik ung pera ko and that I just need to accept it and move on with my life. But, thank God, when I checked my online bank account today, I was so surprised to see na may nadebit sa account ko na 24k. I checked the exact price ng receipt na binayaran ko sa caritas, and it was same sa nadebit sa account ko. Sobra akong thankful sa blog na ito at sa lahat ng mga useful comments na nabasa ko dito. Don't lose hope guys. :)

  73. Ang dami dn palang nagrereklamo katulad ko. Gsto ko sanang marefund yung naswipe nila na 25k plus. Sabi kc nung agent Insurance and investment din sya kaya kapag ayaw ko ng ituloy anytime makakapafrefund ako. Then napanood ko yung balita sa 24oras na madaming nagrereklamo kaya gsto ko na dng magrefund. Then nagpunta ako sa Caritas branch nilas dito sa Pampanga, iisa lang sinasabi nila, "di ko na daw pweding irefund dahil 1 year na and kahit piso wala ng mababalik sakin".

Thank you very much for all of you who shared their experiences Caritas has very poor reviews ratings is 3.1, im sorry for those who are having difficulty for their refunds, dishonesty of the company, and poor customer service offered to members. Typical FILIPINO scam, This tells me that corruption is not only within the politics but around the PHILIPPINES. The main problems lies in the company, the owner... administration should address the issue, involved internal affairs to investigate into all this withdrawals and cancellations of their policies. The system is broken, poor management and planning and implementation. Processing of the medical policy takes weeks and months for approval a little knowledge will help you not to get into a trap........First application, 2 reviews of the application and interview of potential member 4. Approval sign paperwork copy of the explained coverage policy 5.date of the starting coverage monthly- yearly premiun, automatic payment from ATM, installment, check or money order. During this time you have in your hand the approved policy and medical card, you also provided with the list of Doctors, hospitals,clinics etc, that is covered within your policy if u choose HMO-PPO -PPI.....Satellite offices of insurance companies is not the best place to apply they can easily close the office for numerous complaints and moved to another mall or offices, ask how long have they been on that building, check the office furnitures cheap ones they are ready to move out immediately, employees properly dress professionalism, credentials from security exchange comm how much the companies worth and what other financial resources to back up their health care, BBB membership of reputable insurance company and their license to sell. a little research will avoid anxiety and frustration.... goodluck to all.
