Caritas Health Shield is Behind the Times
I browsed some products early yesterday about health insurance and hmo. What I discover is that many HMOs and even health insurance companies have updated their products. I have absented from viewing HMO products since I have been ripped off and right now, I want to venture again because I have to protect my husband and 2 young boys. I looked at the various products on the field and happily, I was able to find one. It's a prepaid card. Since our family is fairly young, we did not opt for a high premium, high availment rate. We choose a health card that had more benefits on the dental, checkup and emergency side. And definitely, not the Caritas Health Shield Health Card.
This brings me to Caritas Health Shield. Caritas Health Shield has a kiddie plan. Well and good. But the only thing that separates the kiddie plan is the age. The availment is almost the same that of the medical benefits for adults. Some lazy dude must have been doing their product design lately.
And they don't have the latest ID verification system around. For many years, Maxicare, Intellicare and other health cards didn't yet to go to the office to get their LOA for non-emergency purposes. They just go to the hospital and swipe their card. With caritas, it's hell. You have to go to their offices. They're many branches specially in Metro Manila but it's also slow. And you have to get their LOA personally. Other HMOs send their LOA via email. Caritas Health Shield doesnt.
They are behind the times. You should upgrade caritas health shield. Otherwise you might not be able to join the bandwagon in the near future.
